War At Home Memorial monuments arrive in Broken Arrow
The War at Home Memorial will be on its way to a new home in July. The monument has been in Norfolk, Va., since fall 2017.
On July 15, the War at Home Memorial will begin its journey to Broken Arrow, with stops along the way in various locations, to encourage others to come see it.
“Hosting the War At Home monuments from Mission 22 in Broken Arrow is an honor,” said City Manager Michael Spurgeon. “The City Council and community have always held the country’s veterans in high regard and does a lot to honor and support them. Hosting this memorial is another opportunity to support those who have sacrificed for the country, and bring to light how their fight doesn’t always end when they come home.”

The War At Home Memorial was created by Mission 22, a non-profit who combats the ever-rising veteran suicide rate. Every day, more than 20 veterans are lost to suicide. Mission 22 wants to bring that number to zero. It does this with three main programs; veteran treatment programs, memorials and national awareness. Learn more about the organization at mission22.com.
