Volunteers Needed for Rogers County Literacy Goal

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED TO REACH AUDACIOUS GOAL!

The Rogers County Literacy Council has an audacious goal – 100% literacy for all! In order to reach this goal, volunteers are needed to instruct adult learners in a one-on-one format.  The Rogers County Literacy Council is providing a Special Extended “Open Minds” Class for volunteers to work with adult learners on November 11, 2017, beginning at 8:30 in the Rogers County Building located at 416 S. Brady (across for El Azteca Restaurant), in Claremore. 

In today’s information world there could be few services provided more important than being able to read and express one’s self.  Every day experiences, as well as reading for knowledge and pleasure, depend upon each individual having the opportunity to collaborate with a tutor to improve his or her literacy skills.

The Rogers County Literacy Council provides this volunteer training class to get volunteers    started on the road to helping an adult learner reach his or her potential.  Lunch, supplies and teaching materials will be provided.
