The “Band with Everything”to rock The Joint inside Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tulsa

TULSA, Okla. – The ultimate classic rock band Styx is set to rock Tulsa with more than four decades of chart-topping hits at The Joint inside Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tulsa on March 31.

Tickets start at $45 and go on sale Feb. 4.

Spawned from a suburban Chicago basement in the early ‘70s, Styx came onto the music scene with their 1972 self-titled debut “Styx.” Their big break came in 1974 with “Lady,” which took the No. 6 spot on the singles chart.

The band would eventually transform into a rock prototype by the late ’70s and early ’80s and rack up more than 15 studio albums and 30 singles, including “Come Sail Away,” “Renegade,” “Blue Collar Man,” “Miss America” and “Fooling Yourself.”

The rockers are also esteemed for being the first band in history to release four consecutive triple-platinum albums.

In 1984 the band released a career-encompassing live album, “Caught in the Act,” before they went on hiatus, and the majority of its members pursued solo projects. Styx reunited for a re-recording of their early hit “Lady,” titled “Lady ’95.” A reunion tour soon followed in 1996, the same year original drummer John Panozzo died and Todd Sucherman joined the band to take his place.

The six men comprising Styx have committed to rocking with audiences far and wide. James “JY” Young, Tommy Shaw, Chuck Panozzo, Todd Sucherman, Lawrence Gowan and Ricky Phillips are entering their second decade of averaging more than 100 shows a year.
