6 p.m. – Cherokee Nation hosts the 11th annual Tribal Employment Rights Office Awards Banquet at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tulsa, located at 777 W. Cherokee St. in Catoosa. The office works with more than 800 certified Indian-owned businesses and artists, and each year the office recognizes nine standout businesses with awards during the special ceremony. 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. – Cherokee Heritage Center hosts Cherokee Heritage Days at the center, located at 21192 S Keeler Dr. in Park Hill. The event includes activities, games and demonstrations for school-aged children, featuring a combination of both Cherokee lifestyles in the early 1700s and 1890s. A guided tour of Diligwa will be offered at 3:30 p.m. Admission is $5 per student, $2 per adult, and teachers and bus drivers are free. Cherokee Heritage Center hosts “Cherokee Saturday” at the center in Park Hill. The first Saturday of each month, excluding January and September, the center offers free admission for citizens of Cherokee Nation or other federally recognized Cherokee tribes and one guest. 5 p.m. – Cherokee Nation hosts College and Career Night at the Craig County Fairgrounds, located at 915 E. Apperson Road in Vinita. The event will include information about FAFSA, Cherokee Nation vocational scholarships and Cherokee Nation college scholarships. Several local colleges will also be onsite to share information, and prize drawings will take place throughout the event. 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. – Cherokee Nation hosts a sewing circle with artist Marie Watt at the Cherokee National Peace Pavilion, located at 177 S. Water Ave. in Tahlequah.
