Attorney General Files Lawsuit Against New Jersey Company
OKLAHOMA CITY –Attorney General Scott Pruitt filed a lawsuit on Thursday against a web-based company in New Jersey for scamming more than 100 Oklahoma businesses.

According to the filing, Electronic Media Marketing Group, Inc., doing business as GeneralYellowPages.com, deceived more than 140 Oklahoma consumers and falsely represented that consumers owed the company payment for online business listing services by telling the consumers they owed $599.95 for services supposedly provided. GeneralYellowPages.com scammed some consumers even further by billing the consumer multiple times for services never ordered or performed.
“Those who take advantage of hardworking Oklahoma business owners will not be tolerated,” Attorney General Pruitt said. “My office is committed to protecting consumers in the state, and will continue to take legal action against those engaging in dishonest business practices.”
The Attorney General’s Office is seeking fines of $10,000 per violation of the Oklahoma Consumer Protection Act and seeking to restrain the company from conducting business within the state of Oklahoma.
