STILWELL, Okla. – Cherokee Casino Tahlequah employees recently stacked hundreds of cans and boxes of food inside the Turning Point Transitional Housing front office to help assist Orchard Road Community Outreach in its efforts.

Casino employees contributed more than 250 nonperishable food items to the organization that to date has provided 699 meals to individuals off the street and to those temporarily residing at Turning Point.

“I’m proud of our employees for stepping up and spending their own money to provide this food to Orchard Road Community Outreach,” said Rod Fourkiller, general manager of Cherokee Casino Tahlequah. “Our employees love to help those in our local communities, and this food contribution is another example.”

For the last four years, Orchard Road Community Outreach has used the former Circle Inn Motel to provide temporary housing for those displaced by natural disaster, fire or other circumstances.

“We want to thank everyone from Cherokee Casino Tahlequah who donated all this food to our organization,” said Max Ford, board member for Orchard Road Community Outreach. “Anything we get is really appreciated, and everything is used.
