New traffic signal energized at 9th and Dallas in BA

A new traffic signal on 9th Street (Lynn Lane/177th East Avenue) in Broken Arrow has been energized. The signal at the intersection with Dallas Street will replace a four-way stop sign and  is currently flashing red in all four directions.

The signal was installed at the 9th and Dallas intersection due to the amount of turning traffic the intersection sees. With the widening of 9th Street to 5 lanes, school-related traffic from All Saints Catholic School on the east side of 9th and commercial traffic from the PACCAR Winch plant to the west would face significant challenges without a traffic signal.

The flashing red lights will remain until all lanes of 9th Street are able to be opened to traffic, which the City anticipates by early November. This will allow drivers to adjust to the presence of the new signal before it is fully operational.
