Fort Gibson: April 9. Elevation is 1 ft. above normal, water temperature 61°F and stained. (USACE Lake Level) Crappie good on jigs, minnows, and plastic baits around brush structure, creek channels, river mouth, and rocks. Blue catfish good on cut bait, live shad, and shad below the dam, coves, and points. Paddlefish fair snagging below the dam and river mouth. Comments: Fishing is really heating up. Crappie are being caught in creeks next to brush and rock structures close to shore. White bass and hybrids are heating up below the dam on plastic baits. Some white bass are being caught in the upper end of Fort Gibson, but the fish are still spread out. Lower Illinois: April 9. Elevation is normal, water temperature 53°F and clear. Rainbow trout good on in-line spinnerbaits, midges, nymphs, PowerBait, spoons, and worms below the dam. Comments: Water levels in the lake have returned normal and they are starting to cycle the releases below the dam.
