Tulsa, OK (October 19, 2021) — Lime today announced it hit the one million ride milestone in Tulsa, with nearly 240,000 riders taking over one million trips. The strong ridership in Tulsa shows how Lime’s shared electric scooters have been embraced by residents and visitors alike and highlighting the bright future of micromobility in the city, the state, and the region.
“We are thrilled that Tulsa riders have chosen to ride green on our shared electric scooters over one million times since we launched here in October 2018. Our scooters provide a safe, affordable and sustainable way for residents and visitors to get around the city. Studies have shown that micromobility programs around the world are a boon to small businesses and help city economies grow, and we are so honored to serve Tulsa and help support the city’s economic recovery from the pandemic in any way we can. We know people love riding our scooters to the Arts District, the Blue Dome District, and Downtown, and we’re especially proud to connect people to attractions like The Gathering Place and to see people riding all along the river. We hope to continue providing a safe and affordable way for Tulsa residents to get where they need to go for years to come,” said Rob Greenleaf, General Manager at Lime.
Lime began offering shared electric scooters in Tulsa in October of 2018. Since then, Lime riders have taken over one million trips and travelled nearly 1.2 million miles, which is equal to five trips from the earth to the moon. By riding green on sustainable e-scooters rather than taking cars, Lime riders have saved an estimated 99 metric tons of carbon emissions. Lime riders have also replaced an estimated 250,000-plus car trips so far.
