Hefner: April 16. Elevation is 6.5 ft. below normal (stable). Water temperature 61°F and murky. Walleye slow on crankbaits, jigs, and worms around dam. Comments: Walleye slow on jigs, worms, and Gay blades around the Dam. Crappie slow on hair jigs, minnows, powerbait, and tube jigs around brush structure, docks, shorelines, and standing timber. Comments: Boaters should use caution due to low lake levels. Eucha: April 16. Elevation is normal (stable). Water temperature 62°F and stained. Largemouth bass good on plastic baits and spinnerbaits around brush structure, coves, rocks, shallows, shorelines, and weed beds. Crappie good on hair jigs, jigs, and minnows around brush structure and shorelines. White bass good on hair jigs, plastic baits, and tube jigs around creek channels. Comments: The gigging tournament was held April 14-15 and gigging is in full swing with good activity reports. Report submitted by Hank Jenks, game warden stationed in Delaware County.

 

Ft. Gibson: April 16. Elevation is 1 ft. above normal (stable). Water temperature 61°F and stained. Largemouth bass excellent on crankbaits, plastic baits, and spinnerbaits around coves, creek channels, points, riprap, and shorelines. Crappie good on jigs and minnows around brush structure, coves, creek channels, and shorelines. Paddlefish fair on snagging below the dam and around river mouth. Comments: Crappie are moving to the shorelines in the main lake. This is welcoming news since the Crappie creek fishing has slowed down. Hybrids and White Bass are still being caught below the dam during generation. White Bass in the upper end of the lake still isn’t concentrated until you get to low water in Mayes County. Blue Catfish are slow below the dam. You can still catch them in wind-blown shorelines in the coves. Black Bass fishing is white hot with chatter baits and spinnerbaits doing well. Grand: April 16. Elevation is 1 ft. above normal (stable). Water temperature 62°F and stained. Largemouth bass good on Alabama rig and plastic baits around brush structure, docks, riprap, and shorelines. Comments: Crappie spawn is in full swing, and the bite is red hot in the shallows, near docks, and shallow brush. They are hitting about anything you throw at them if you can avoid snagging the structure!! Paddlefish snagging slowed down on Grand with warming weather. Striped hybrid and white bass good on grubs, jigs, live bait, minnows, and sassy shad around river channel and river mouth. Paddlefish good on snagging around main lake, river channel, river mouth, and below the dam. Comments: Most paddlefish being caught below the dam are 10-25 pounds or less.
