Eucha: July 17. Elevation is normal, water temperature 84°F and clear. Blue and channel catfish fair on chicken liver, cut bait, live bait, shad, and worms around coves, flats, main lake, and points. Lower Illinois: July 15. Elevation is normal, water temperature 64°F and stained. Rainbow trout good on caddis flies, in-line spinnerbaits, midges, PowerBait, and worms below the dam and other. Skiatook: July17. Elevation is 1 ft. below normal, water temperature 89°F and clear. (USACE Lake Level) Crappie fair on jigs and minnows around brush structure and standing timber. Striped bass hybrids and white bass slow on live shad, shad, and spoons around main lake. Report submitted by Paul Welch, game warden stationed in Osage County.

 

Sooner: July 18. Elevation is 2.5 ft. below normal and falling, water temperature 87°F and clear. Largemouth bass fair on jerk baits and topwater lures around brush structure and weed beds. Striped bass hybrids bass excellent on live shad around main lake. Saugeye fair on crankbaits, jigs, and live shad around main lake. Foss: July 18. Elevation is 3 ft. below normal, water temperature 75°F and clear.  (USACE Lake Level) Walleye slow on live bait around the main lake. Striped bass hybrids good on topwater lures while they are surfacing in early morning and late evenings. Catfish fair on cut baits around the north side of the lake. Crappie slow to fair right now. Arbuckle: July 16. Elevation is .5 ft. above normal, water temperature 84°F and clear.  (USACE Lake Level) Fishing is slow. Some bass being caught early morning to daybreak on crankbaits, spinnerbaits, and jigs. White bass are chasing shad near the surface in parts of the lake, mainly the dam area. Blue River:  July 19. Elevation is normal, water temperature 83°F and stained. Blue, channel, and flathead catfish fair on live bait, live shad, and sunfish around channels, coves, creek channels, docks, points, river channel, and below the dam. Crappie fair on grubs, jigs, minnows, and nymphs around brush structure, channels, coves, discharge, points, rocks, and standing timber. Comments: Fishing this week has been good. Striper are feeding very well on live shad near Platter Flats and the Denison Dam. They are also biting on topwater baits right now. Crappie are biting on jigs and powerbait and minnows near brush piles in 12-23 ft. of water.
