Jefferson Starship takes Cherokee Casino to the edge Aug. 4-5

Road-conquering heroes take on West Siloam Springs and Roland

WEST SILOAM SPRINGS, Okla. – Jefferson Starship, one of the most successful arena rock groups of the 1970s and ‘80s, is keeping its legacy alive and touring the country with its iconic catalog of Top 40 singles. On Thursday, Aug. 4, the band will arrive at Cherokee Casino & Hotel West Siloam Springs for a show at SEVEN Bar and take on Lee Creek Tavern at Cherokee Casino & Hotel Roland on Friday, Aug. 5.
Both shows are free and open to the public ages 21 and up.
Descended from Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees and 2016 Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award recipients Jefferson Airplane, Jefferson Starship has amassed three platinum and eight gold records, as well as numerous hits. The legend began in 1970 when Paul Kantner released the album “Blows Against the Empire” under the name “Paul Kantner/Jefferson Starship.” From there, the band first toured as Jefferson Starship in 1974 and went on to be known for hits like “Miracles,” “Play on Love,” “With Your Love,” “Count on Me,” “Jane,” “Find Your Way Back,” “Winds of Change” and “No Way Out,” among others.
Following the death of Kantner in 2016, the band consists of original member David Freiberg, drummer Donny Baldwin (whose Jefferson Starship roots go back to 1982), keyboardist Chris Smith (who joined in 1998), guitarist Jude Gold (who joined in 2012), and singer and guitarist Cathy Richardson (who joined in 2008).
