Owasso Man Dies from Injuries Sustained in Monday Traffic Accident

 

12/09/2021 – The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports a fatality accident occurred December 6th at approximately 10:56 AM on 116th Street North .1 mile east of Yale Avenue, 2 miles west of Owasso, OK in Tulsa County.

Leo Angelo Mitchell, age 91 of Owasso was driving a 2000 Volvo S80 southbound on a private drive preparing to turn east onto 116th Street North and failed to yield from the private drive. He was struck by a 2006 Peterbilt Dump truck driven by Travis Lee Carmack, age 41, of Ramona.

Mitchel  was transported by Owasso Fire/EMS to St. John Hospital in Tulsa, OK. Admitted in fair condition with head and trunk internal injuries.  He died as a result of his injuries on December 8th.  Carmack was not injured.
