Today, SoundMind Behavior Health is pleased to announce the purchase of land located at the northwest corner of Aspen (145th East) Avenue and the Creek Turnpike in Broken Arrow.
In 2019, the City of Broken Arrow’s Economic Development Authority entered into an economic development agreement to sell 14 acres of Authority-owned land to SoundMind for $300,000 to build a specialty hospital designed to help address the growing medical needs of the senior population. The hospital’s primary purpose will be to treat mental health disorders and behaviors caused by dementia and Alzheimer’s related problems.
SoundMind will begin construction in spring 2020 on a 55,000 square foot behavior health hospital serving communities throughout Northeast Oklahoma. The hospital is being designed by Dewberry Architects in Tulsa and will be constructed by Cowen Construction. The Hospital is expected to open by the fall of 2021.
SoundMind Behavior Health would like to thank everyone at the City of Broken Arrow for making this much-needed hospital a reality.

SoundMind’s mission is to provide inpatient and outpatient mental health services for patients 55 years of age and older suffering from acute mental and behavioral symptoms
“SoundMind Behavioral Hospital is just another example of the City of Broken Arrow’s dedication to improving the quality of life for our community,” said Norm Stephens, Economic Development Manager for the City of Broken Arrow. “The Behavioral Hospital will create good paying jobs, provide greater density and daytime traffic in south Broken Arrow. Additionally, the Hospital will prove to be a catalyst for additional restaurants, retail and office space in the southwest portion of Broken Arrow.”
