Buy Broken Arrow kicks off Nov. 1

Buy Broken is one of the largest holiday shopping programs in Oklahoma, handing out over 2 million tickets during the campaign, which runs Nov. 1-Dec. 8. A total of $15,000 will be awarded to Broken Arrow shoppers during the campaign. The merchants involved in Buy Broken Arrow will be part of a $10,000 plus advertising campaign which includes social media, radio, television, web and print.

The ticket drawing will take place at 3 p.m., Dec. 10, at Moody’s Jewelry in Broken Arrow (Ticket holders do NOT need to be present to win).

Each year, Buy Broken Arrow gives shoppers a chance to win $10,000, $3,000 or $2,000 when they shop with participating merchants in Broken Arrow.

“Holiday shopping naturally creates a boost for the economy, with the Buy Broken Arrow program we hope to bring awareness to the importance of keeping those dollars in Broken Arrow” said Jennifer Conway, president and CEO of the Broken Arrow Chamber and EDC. “The campaign highlights and promotes the City of Broken Arrow and the many wonderful businesses that are a part of the community.”

A new benefit to participating merchants that was implemented this year is a weekly drawing for only small businesses of 25 employees or less. Shoppers will be encouraged to tag participating merchants’ social media pages and use the hashtag #BuyBA in their post. Each week, the Chamber will draw a ticket from the business who has the most hashtags and handout a $250 prize. The location of the drawing each week will be held at the winning merchant’s store.

“Buy Broken Arrow creates a unique experience for shoppers during the holiday season and gives retailers an extra advantage,” Conway said. “We are excited to be adding the weekly drawings this year to highlight the small businesses in the community.”
