Identity theft and fraud crimes are on the rise. The City of Broken Arrow wants to help you avoid becoming a victim of identity theft and fraud by keeping your personal information away from the hands of thieves. One method thieves use to steal your information is combing through recycling and garbage for sensitive information that has been thrown away. The Broken Arrow Police Department recommends and encourages citizens to use a shredder (preferably cross-cut) for sensitive documents, such as credit card statements, financial statements, pre-approved credit card offers, old IRS tax forms, bank checks, household bills, etc.
With help from American Document Shredding, BAPD will offer document shredding from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. in the west parking lot at the Senior Resource Fair.
