TULSA, Okla. – With the ability to rock out audiences young and old, Kansas is bringing some of classic rock’s most recognizable songs to The Joint inside Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tulsa on July 1.
Tickets start at $39 and go on sale May 3.
Fans will hear songs they have heard on the radio, Don Kirshner’s Rock Concert and Classic MTV since 1974. Along with a number of Top 100 hits in the set, Kansas fans will also hear some classic B-sides, fan favorites and material off the band’s latest studio album, “The Prelude Implicit.”
Considered a cornerstone of classic rock, Kansas has dazzled the world for more than four decades after being discovered by Wally Gold in the early 1970s. The Topeka “garage band” released their debut album in 1974 and went on to sell more than 30 million albums worldwide over the span of 40 years.
Out of the band’s 15 studio albums and five live albums, Kansas has produced eight gold albums, three sextuple-platinum albums (“Leftoverture,” “Point of Know Return” and “Best of Kansas”), one platinum live album and two one million-selling gold singles, “Carry On Wayward Son” and “Dust in the Wind.” They appeared on the Billboard charts for more than 200 weeks throughout the 1970s and 1980s and played to sold-out arenas across the world.
Today, Kansas continues to remain a fixture of classic rock radio with their numerous singles. The band has also recently reached a whole new audience through their unmistakable presence on the popular video games “Rock Band” and “Guitar Hero,” and through their songs’ inclusion on various television shows like “Supernatural” and “South Park” and with films “Old School” and “Anchorman.”
The band is currently comprised of original drummer Phil Ehart, bassist/vocalist Billy Greer, keyboardist David Manion, vocalist/keyboardist Ronnie Platt, violinist/guitarist David Ragsdale, guitarist Zak Rizvi and original guitarist Richard Williams.
